Yasmin Ahmad is a film director/writer from Malaysia. Her feature films to date include Rabun (2003), Sepet (2004), and Gubra (2006).
Yasmin's stories often deal with love and life, capturing the very essence of comedy and tragedy. Her films have received international recognition from all over the world.
Sepet won various awards, including Best Asian Film at the 18th Tokyo International Film Festival, the 9th Malaysian Video Awards, the 27th Creteil International Women Directors Festival in France, the Global Chinese Golden Arts Wards, the Anugerah Era 2005, and six awards at the 18th Malaysian Film Festival.
Her most recent film Gubra also garnered critical acclaim at international film festivals.
