Movie making is a tough job that requires both physically and emotionally strength, and soul. If the story that you want to make can't make you think about it all time, don't make it.
2. Story and action is the Heart of movie
Beautiful scenes, costumes, make up or even the picture taking techniques are important elements of movies. But the most important elements that a director has to be concerned with are the story telling and the acting because that's the direct responsibility of the director.
3. Don't faces only on the beauty of the movie aspect
Movie is an art of story telling by visual and sound. Visual is the most important tool of a director. On the other hand, it must be suitable with the story. If visual overpowers the story line far from the story, the audiences will not be able to connect with our movie.
4. Every scene has something to tell
Concentration is a very important element to directors because movie filming does not always go in the direct order of the story. This can make you confused and forget that in every scene, there's a story to tell. Not a single scene is made without a purpose and every purpose has an affect on the whole movie.
5. Listen to everybody, but believe in yourself
Every comment from your team is useful. But as a director, you are the only who know how the movie is going to turn out.
6. If not necessary, don't edit movie by yourself
A good editor always has a fresh point of view. Sometimes it might not be similar to the original story or what you've thought of while filming the movie, but it might be better. It might support some points that you wanted to express or bring out more feelings to the movie. If you are not an egoistic director, it's better to ask someone to edit your movie.
