You know someone has an unhealthy obsession with good food when they line up for hours just to get their hands on it. And it's a well-known fact. That this someone is most likely to be Singaporean. Which sounds about right. Because food is our one true love.

So what do you get when you merge food with cultures in Singapore? Rojak. Say what? Yes, the term may be conspicuously absent from the 2005 edition of the Oxford University Dictionary. But make no mistake; it's a culinary delight waiting to be discovered by the rest of the world. A local version of a Western salad. Sweet, tangy, crunchy and sour. Simply an explosion of flavors.

At first glance, rojak looks none too appetizing. But if you dig a little deeper, you'll unearth a mixture of the most unlikely local ingredients like turnip, pineapple, bean sprouts and fried dough fritters. Complemented by a sauce made up of shrimp paste, soya sauce and brown sugar. It is exactly this strange combination that makes the taste so good. Like how the unique blend of racial diversity creates a melting pot of cultures. And harmony on our little island.

Rojak. A local icon in its own right. We wanted to reflect racial harmony in Singapore in a way that would talk to the hearts [and stomachs] of the judging panel the best way we knew how was to do it through cuisine preparation! So we chose to focus on local food ingredients and show them in a different light.

This 30-seconder is done up like a food ad - gorgeous shots of the ingredients are tossed in the air and dropped into water. The puzzle is solved when the tagline is reflected at the end of the clip.
